GUI fonts difficult to read

Hello,

I’m running Audacity 2.4.1 on Kubuntu 20.04 but there are scaling problems with parts of the GUI - see attachment.

Look at the different toolbars: the fonts don’t fit in the size given by the toolbars, and some fonts are difficult to read:

Can somebody help me correct this?

thank you

Supporting High DPI has been a slow process. It is gradually improving, and Audacity 2.4.2 is noticeably better than previous versions, but still not perfect.
This is Audacity 2.4.2 on Xubuntu 18.04 with screen resolution 1920 x 1080. You may notice that the Device Toolbar is much better, but the “L/R” labels on the meters are still a bit off.

Unless you are an experienced C++ developer, there’s not much that you can do about it other than wait for better versions to become available.

ah, thanks. The Hi DPI issue is indeed a bummer in more apps.

Hi.
Yesterday I built Audacity 2.4.2 following the Steve guide here:
https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/building-audacity-2-4-2-on-ubuntu-20-04/57719/1
And is the first time I got the correct font size on audacity:

Plus solving another weird behaviors. From now I strongly recommend build from source on your own machine
