Gradual slow-down to stop

Hello - i’m trying to slow down the end of a piece of music. I want the clip to play at normal speed but in the last few seconds slow down gradually but dramatically to a stop. The effect I’m looking for is for the music to suddenly GRIND to a stop.

Can anyone help me with this please?

Thanks.

I think you’ll have to look for a VST plug-in. Sliding Stretch can gradually slow the tempo but it only goes down to -90% (whatever that means).

I’m pretty sure Izotope Vinyl can simulate a vinyl record slowing-down and stopping (The speed and pitch will change together.) But I’m not sure if it’s compatible with the current version of Audacity. I think I had it working once… Izotope doesn’t officially support Audacity.

It’s free but you have to register with Izotope to get a serial number. (They won’t spam you.)

Audacity’s time track can slow the speed, but pitch will drop, (like a tape or vinyl recording).

Hi that would be ok but it would need to be gradual. So… over a few seconds it would go gradually from normal speed to complete stop.

slow down with time track

After mix and render, delete the time track, otherwise it will be applied again.
