FILE ERROR

I made a recording a few days ago, saved the project, listened to it and cut about 15 seconds out of the file.
By trying to save the file, audacity always gives me an error indication: “Audacity cannot read a file”.
I also cannot extract an MP3. What can I do to save / extract the file as an MP3 to use it for my Podcast?

Thanks for your help.
By the way: I was using Audacity 2.2.1 and now updated to the latest version, but the problem is still there.

What do you mean by “trying to save the file”? Is this different from saving the project (which you say you have already done)?

Please give us the exact error message and steps that lead up to it (including exact menu choices and dialog choices).

In order to Export an MP3 you need to install the LAME encoder.
