File compressing on import?

I’m putting together a podcast using my very limited Audacity skills. It’s a very simple splice job: Intro + podcast audio + outro.

The problem is that the file containing the main audio is reducing to under 0.15 seconds when opened in Audacity. It’s a standard mp3 file of 13mb and it opens fine elsewhere. The intro and outro files are also fine, so it’s only this one.

Any ideas?

“Smart clip” feature can make audio tracks/clips shorter, (even zero duration).
