I have downloaded the 64 bit version of Audacity, and I have also downloaded the 64 bit version of the FFmpeg library. Yet try as I might, Audacity detects where the FFmpeg library is, and it just won’t load anything and claims it is not there. I have reinstalled Audacity, I have reinstalled the FFmpeg library, installed the 32 bit version, but nothing lets it recognise the library. All this is just so I can load the additional file types to Audacity.
I do not want to do a roundabout solution of converting these files to WAV, I am at a loss on what to do.
You don’t mention how you installed ffmpeg. Was it the version specifically for Audacity, or the regular release version?
For what seems like the first time in decades, ffmpeg released a new version. It has all kinds of neat stuff in it, including OpenVINO transcription. It is almost certainly not compatible with Audacity.
