Was using Audacity 3.6 or something. It detects the ffmpeg library on my MacOS automatically, as usual.
After accidentally updating another package that also updated the ffmpeg package using homebrew, Audacity is now “FFmpeg library not found”. Manual “Locate” also doesn’t work (clicking OK in locate FFmpeg was like nothing happened).
What’s going on here?
Audacity requires a special version of ffmpeg. This can be downloaded here.
Ffmpeg recently released a new version that’s not yet supported by Audacity. The next audaciry version will include support for that ffmpeg version. In the meantime, you can install an older version of ffmpeg like ffmpeg@7
