Feedback Echo From Computer Sound Card

I am using Audacity 3.7.4 and everything has been working well, but recently whenever I attepmt to record from my computer soundcard, I get an aweful humming noise and feedback in the recording.

A few days back I needed to record a conversation from my mobile so I did change the Recording Device in the Audio Setup dropdown from Stereo Mix (Realtek) to my Snowball Microphone. Now that I have swiched it back, I am getting the humming noise and feedback / echo.

Nothing has changed in my computer sound settings for input or output, and I have tried to uninstall and reinstall Audacity.

Audio Setup
Host = Windows WASAPI
Playback = Headphones (Realtek)
Recording Device = Stereo Mix (Realtek)
Recording Channels = 2(Stereo)

Any help would be appreciated!

I started getting something like that one day and went crazy trying to figure out the source. I never did. But after I turned my computer off and then on again, it disappeared.

Turn OFF Audible Input Monitoring. With Stereo Mix or Loopback, you’re recording what you’re hearing and with Audible Input Monitoring you’re hearing what you’re recording, creating an internal feedback loop.

That’s the solution, thanks!
