Failure to republish

Help!! I would like to republish an earlier episode with some new audio attached, but I no longer have the original MP3 on my computer.

I have gone back to the link on the published episode and downloaded it.

At this point, everything looks normal. But as soon as I move it to my Desktop to import it to Audacity, the format changes and I get a ‘file not recognised’ message from Audacity.

I have been to Buzzsprout support, the platform I use. They have tried everything.

Can anyone please come to my aid? I would be most grateful.

In recent years Audacity has become fussy about which mp3’s it will accept.
A solution is to convert the mp3 into a WAV using other software or an online converter.
Then import the WAV into Audacity for editing.

Audacity does not recognize MP3 file when imported

Hello, I do not know much about audio files but I have used Audacity successfully in the past to trim MP3 files. Recently, I have not been able to import any of my MP3 files. The message I am getting is: “Audacity did not recognize the type of the file ‘C\Users\Owner\Downloads\file name.mp3’. Try installing FFmpeg. For uncompressed files, also try File > Import > Raw Data.” I just downloaded the latest Audacity Version 3.2.4, and I’m using Windows 10. The MP3 files are recorded personally …
