Can I migrate the music content to an external NAS and if so what are the steps to make sure all the hidden files and tags are migrated successfully
What are you migrating from? And what specifically do you mean by music content in this context.

All the recorded content is stored locally on one windows PC. I would like to use an external NAS (SSD) and share this with another windows PC that would be running audacity.

You can do what you propose with one very important caveat. When working on an Audacity project (i.e. editing) don’t do that directly from a NAS. Copy it locally and copy it back when you are done. All the seasoned forum moderators will tell you the same, I suspect. I store master copies on my NAS but only edit locally.
