Exporting multiple tracks as one file

Hello, sorry if this has been answered before but my efforts to find it came up fruitless. Would you be willing to help with exporting an 60 min audio file that I have made 10 minute interval tracks on as one file? I can export it as multiple but the problem is it is then not one file I can burn on to a CD. I understand I could go in there in and attach each track together in Windows Media Player to then burn to a CD but looking for something to make it easier and faster.

I also store these audios on a hard drive and wanted all the tracks as one for that as well. Hope that makes sense, been playing with it just can not seem to figure it out. Thank you, Bill.

If you File → Import Audio it will open a new track below the previous one. Then you can use the Time Shift Tool to align the beginning of the new track with the end of the old track. Repeat for all tracks.

When you export, the tracks (including all of the “silence”) will be mixed, giving you one-long file.

I can export it as multiple but the problem is it is then not one file I can burn on to a CD.

You can make a CD from multiple files or from on long file. If you use multiple files there will be a new CD track at the start of each file (and you can optionally add more track markers to the CD). That’s probably the most common way to make a CD… With a separate song file for each CD track.

With a cue sheet (and appropriate burning software) you can use one-long file and add track markers.

Thank you, I will work with it.

We should remember a legacy problem that Audio CDs have. They don’t carry song titles. There wasn’t room when they were designing the format. When you play a CD, the player goes on-line and tries to figure out what the titles are—and it can get them wrong. No, my ratty electric organ solo was not performed by Melissa Etheridge.

My very not “internet-enhanced” pickup truck player displays everything as Track-1, Track-2, Track-3. That’s normal. So before you go to weeks of work typing in all the music info…

Thank you kozikowski, although I think Melissa Etheridge would rock that electric organ solo!

Yeah not to worried about label names. I make 60 or so minute recording of a church service and make MP3 files and CDs for folks. Just had one lady request 10 minuter intervals she could fast forward to on her CD. I could use export multiples for each track when I split the 60 minutes but did not want to transfer the MP3 file as multiple tracks.

I might just do one way for CDs and the other single file for MP3s. Thank you again for your help fellas, I appreciate it. Bill
