When exporting files from audacity using the wav format, they do not appear in my windows 11 folders, they exist as if I try to save with the same file name, audacity asks me to overwrite or not?
I have gone in windows file explorer and set hidden files to be viewed, but still no wav file.
The folder does display other file types (.mpv, .doc) just not an audacity wav file.
I this a problem with windows or audacity export issues I need to resolve ?
I have been quite careful to make sure the file is saved to the correct folder, I know it is easy to make a mistake, but on this occassion I have been accurate as to the folder destination.
I have only little knowledge about Windows - but here are some points:
For sure you can hide a folder (make it invisible). Does this make the folder contents also invisible? I don’t know.
In “unixoid” operating systems - like Linux or MacOS - files starting with a period sign (.) are invisible, unless you display them intentionally. Does your file’s name start with a period?
Thanks for your help, I have double checked and the file names are pretty standard with the leading character not a period or anything similar.
I am fairly sure it might be an audacity export issue, if I copy an existing .wav file from another folder it is visible/accesible, when I export a file of any type from Audacity it does not appear in the folder, but… Audacity can see it, as if I export a file and name it the same as the previous saved version, it asks me to overwrite or not.
Very strange and could be a windows issue, but I am leaning to Audacity export issues ?, happy to be proven wrong though.
