Does anyone know how to export multiple tracks with multiple lablels?
When record my music in multiple tracks recorded and split them wit a label. Then I export it with CTRL-SHIFT L but only the song title is filled in and not the artists. Those fields stay empty and have to manually filled in.
I think that is possible but don’t know how. I have tried a more lable tracks or multiple labels on a song but none of the extra information is used when exporting.
I can’t answer your question but if I need to add or edit metadata I use Mp3Tag. (It works with all of the popular formats, not just MP3.)
It supports embedded album artwork, which Audacity does not. You can select a folder-full of tracks at once (usually an album) and enter all of the common information once. Then you can select one track at a time to enter the track number, song title, and any other unique information.
With Audacity, if you want to just edit the metadata the whole file gets re-written (or a whole new file is created) when you re-export. That’s undesirable with MP3 and other lossy formats because you are going through another generation of lossy compression. And if you have ReplayGain tags, they will be lost along with any artwork.
Indeed I use mp3tag. Normally i use this after recording. With audacity i split the complete audio recording in tracks with labels andthe export function.
So it would help me a lot if I can add info right before the export. This has two advantages. I can save the complete recording with the labels and if I want to adjust the audio recording, I don’t have to add the track info again.
