Export problems. Voice lines disappeared without headphones

So my problem is simple and can be observed in the attached video:

Without headphone, it’s garbage. With it’s golden. I think messed up my export process. Has someone encountered this before?

Thanks in advance.

One of the channels is inverted. If the left & right channels are out-of-phase they will cancel when played-back on a mono speaker.

Is this a voice-only file, or is there music that remains with the vocals canceled?

Try this -
Click the little drop-down arrow to the left of the waveform.
Select Split Stereo Track. (That allows you to edit/process left & right independently.)
Select all of the audio in one of the tracks/channels.
Effect → Invert.

That should put the dialog back in-phase. That may “damage” the music part but should be an improvement.

How did you make the voice track? There is a sound adapter I call the Devil’s Adapter.

It seems to be a no-brainer to adapt an XLR microphone to the side of your laptop, but it will produce this wacky cancellation effect.

There’s two adapters that do work. One 1/8" like this.

… and the standard club rock-band adapter like this…

Count the black bands on the long silvery plug (either one). It has one black band and not two.

If you have a cable with two black bands (top illustration) throw it out.
