Export Audacity files for Youtube

Hi,

I’m just starting to use Audacity and I would like to convert my audacity file into a file for youtube, how can I do that ?

YouTube only accepts video (not audio), so you need to embed your recording in a video. I don’t use Windows, but I believe that you can do that by exporting a “WAV” audio file from Audacity, and then import that into Movie Maker. Add one or more pictures for you “movie”, then export/save the movie file. For details about using Windows Movie Maker and the best format for your final video file… Google is your friend :wink:

4 yrs later but nevertheless I wanted to share what I think is the best option for this use case:

  • export your file to MP3 or WAV
  • use an online service to convert your file to a YouTube video. https://Audioship.io and http://Tunestotube.com are the most popular ones. I hae tested both and they work great. The free version of Audioship doen’t have a watermark so that’s a plus.
