I’ve been using Audacity for 10 years – never an issue, great program. Until yesterday. As I record voice tracks, it’s not recording the first sounds of my voice. I hear it in my headphones but then that first sound is missing on the actual recording. Example: Testing, 1,2,3 comes out as Esting, 1,2,3. The mic is fine (Blue Yeti), and the settings are punched for yeti in the audacity toolbar. I’ve explored the latency issue without positive result. And why would I be having latency issues all of the sudden? There was another Windows update recently and an audacity update as well. I suspect that one or both of them is the culprit. All well and good . . . how do I fix this very annoying issue? Thanks in advance for any help I can get from the community.
Windows update can re-enable “audio enhancements”.
Enhancements can include a noise gate which can chop off the start of words.
You, Sir, are a lifesaver and THE MAN. On one side, there is Windows messing with my deal and on the other is you. It worked! Sound quality is better (I THOUGHT it all sounded a bit muddy), and the lag issue has been corrected. Without you and this forum, I NEVER would have sorted it out. Too deep in the weeds with settings, etc. Thank you so much.
