Hi,
I’m running 2.1.2 on a Mac OSX 10.6.8.
First time I downloaded, put Audacity in my Applications, it ran fine. Second time I ran it, EVERYTHING was greyed out, Preferences, even the Quit option. I had to Force Quit.
I’ve read lots of forums and nobody seems to have had this issue. I open Audacity, and from the get-go I can’t click anything. I’ve reinstalled, restarted, re-everything countless times!
What can I do?

If you are playing or recording, press the yellow Stop button (but Quit Audacity won’t be greyed out in that case).
If you opened an effect then pressed the red Close button on the effect, you will have to force quit Audacity. That bug will be fixed in the next release of Audacity.
Also if you open an effect, switch away from Audacity, switch back to Audacity then cancel the effect, you may have to force quit Audacity.
Those are the cases we know.
