MacBook Air 10.13.3, Audacity 2.2.2
I’ve read a number of the posts having to do with the “Error opening sound device” message, enough to think my problem can’t be solved. Hopefully, I’m wrong.
I’ve followed the preferences setup steps through and including the Audio MIDI setup, to a point. As the screenshot shows, I cannot select any device for input.
Any suggestions you have will be appreciated.
What is the USB PnP device?
What are you trying to do?
The USB PnP Audio Device is already selected for input, as indicated by the microphone icon beside the device name.
I don’t know why you can’t configure it. You should be able to select it in Audacity, just make sure to set Audacity’s project rate to 48000 Hz (to match the USB device).
Is this a “cassette audio capture” device? Lot’s of Mac users have had problems with them
