Audacity should be installed from your normal user account. You may be prompted to enter an admin password to confirm that it can be installed.

I suspect that you installed Audacity from an administrator account. If you do that, it will only run from the administrator account. Like most apps, Audacity should not be run from an administrator account.

Thank you for your reply. I tried re-installing 2.3.3 and this is what I get when I run it as a Administrator or not. Please see Screen Capture attachment Audacity.jpg.

“api-ms-win-runtime-|1-1-0.dll” is part of Windows. It is the “Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio”.
Your computer’s version is too old.

The update is available from Microsoft: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

Note that for Windows 7, you must have Service Pack 1 (SP1) installed. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36805

Hi Steve, I tried to do as you suggested, but I get these two Errors when doing so. See Screen captures.

Do you have Service Pack 1 (SP1) installed?

I just installed Windows 7 ver. 6.1 with service pack 1, Now when I try to run Audacity 2.3.3 I get This. App. unable to start correctly. (0xc00007b) I am at the end of my rope. :frowning:

Is that the full and complete error message?

OK I haven’t been on the computer for a while. I notice that I have gotten some updates since the last time I was loge in. And yes it was the whole message.I believe Steve asked that,Thank you Steve. But I just tried to run Audacity and it runs I have not tried to do anything with it yet, But be assured I will. I am thankful for all that tried to help me. Stay well and be save.
