I tried to download the recent Audacity update and it said it could not overwrite audacity.exe and asked if I wanted to proceed or cancel and I chose cancel but then couldn’t use my audacity anymore as i would get an error message. So then I tried to uninstall but again the computer couldn’t find it to uninstall it even though i was seeing it on the list of programs. Then I tried downloading the update again and choosing “ignore and install” with every error message until I realized that every single file the computer was downloading was producing an error message and was not able to be installed. Now I cannot use audacity and cannot download it either.
A running application cannot be replaced, in any operating system.
Yes I’m aware of that and the application was not running. I even restarted the computer the second try to make sure that the application was completely closed out.
