Using a MacBook Pro, macOS Catalina 10.15.7 Just updated to latest version of Audacity. Trying to record on laptop using internal mic. Everything is set as it was, but now I get this error message: Error 9986 - Internal PortAudio Error. Settings remain the same as I have always used with no problem. I hope someone can help troubleshoot.
So try Transport > Rescan Audio Devices. If that doesn’t work reboot your machine.
