Hi folks, I’m trying to use the envelope tool in Audacity version 3.7.0 Sometimes I manage it as intended, but most times when I try to create control points, it creates these “ghost” points that don’t do much (see screenshot). I move them around but they don’t “grab” the purple line and affect the sound wave very little.
Envelope points have a total of 4 control points. A pair of inner points, and a pair of outer points. In your screenshot, the outer points have been pushed outside of the top/bottom of the track, and because of this they are not visible on the track.
If you right click on the track’s vertical scale and “zoom out”, you should be able to see both pairs of control points and the top/bottom edges of the envelope.
