I’m a reasonable dab hand at doing Bartley Gorman (the inspiration for Tom Hardy’s pre-processing Bane voice in TDKR, see here). I can get about 90% of the way with the old tin-can-with-nail-holes-in-the-bottom trick.
But there’s a loudspeaker/bullhorn/crappy speaker quality to Bane in TDKR that I’m having a hard time nailing down. What would you tinker with in Audacity to try to get it right?
So far I have nothing at all – I’ve been seeing how far I can get with my own voice and some practical effects (hence the tin can with holes in it). I haven’t played with audio software since Cool Edit Pro was in its infancy, but I know Audacity is the solution of choice for freeware recording these days.
