I don’t have a problem running the Nyquist Comb filter or Nyquist Pseudostereo in Oct 4th 2016 2.1.3-alpha after doing so in 2.1.2 release or 15 Jun 2016 2.1.3-alpha. If you do, I think the problem will only occur when you first launch the effect.
If the problem continues, exit audacity and delete the file Users<your username>\AppData\Roaming\Audacity\pluginsettings.cfg.
If the problem continues after that, please give us the exact file name of the plugins and tell us where you obtained them from, and tell us what language Windows is running in and what language Audacity is running in (look in Interface Preferences).
I have deleted the file Users<your username>\AppData\Roaming\Audacity\pluginsettings.cfg. - doesn’t help. System language Russian, programm language English. Earlier everything was fine, only since some alpha version. I’ve chanhged nothing - programm location, settings… What has happened?
The “cannot load settings” only occurs the first time I use the plugin, if I change Windows Region and Language format to Russian, or if I then change Audacity language to English.
If I delete audacity.cfg, the problem does not happen at all, with Russian still set in Windows and if I do not change Audacity language.
Are you saying the “cannot load settings” continues every time you use the plugin? Does the plugin appear after the warning and can you then use the plugin? If so, what decimal separator appears in those Nyquist effects - comma or decimal point? Also look at the other effects such as Wahwah or Phaser. Are those showing comma or decimal point separator? I think they should show decimal point separator, with Windows language in Russian and Audacity language in English.
What happens if you change Audacity language to System? Do you still see “cannot load settings”? Do you then see comma separator in the effects?
Yes, continues every time. Certainly, changing programm languge to system doesn’t solve the problem. Yes, the plugin appears after warning and I can use it, but it is uncomfortable. If programm language is English - decimal separator is always dot, if it is Russian (system) - always comma. Something wrong with the programm. If you’ll find the computer with system language Russian, I am sure, you’ll see the same anomalies and can reproduce the problem, which stops all my work.
Why does it do that? It is obviously annoying but does the plugin work correctly when you run it? Does it remember the same settings you used last time?
Is it only Nyquist effects that do this - not VST or LADSPA or any of the built-in effects?
Yes, it works correcly and remaines last value, used, but only after warning every time. I don’t know, use only Nyquist effects. The built-in effects work normally. It seems, I have understood. When I cause effect, the programm loads the values from other effect, certainly, they are unsuitable, and asks to overset them! Further, everything are working, but very uncomfortable. Correct, please!
