Editor improvements

First of all : Audacity 4 is already great!

I’m testing it now (alpha version of november) and here are already 4 improvements that can be made :

  • There is a bug in copy paste : i’ve set 4 beats in a music measure and when i’m copying it to the second, the first beat is cropped and the rest isn’t positioned right (moved to the left)
  • If i make a new track, the popup buttons (stereo, mono) won’t dissappear after clicking them
  • align the vertical line (pointer) to the beginning of a music measure when clicking nearby
  • VST3 support

I must congratulate the team with the workflow of the program : I’m used to work with Logic (and that’s really easy) but but some things I find easier to do in Audacity 4

that’s intentional, to allow you to quickly add multiple tracks.

try turning on snapping

I believe that already is in the latest master build, perhaps not the alpha

Thanks for the reply. Only I find it strange to add multiple tracks at once as a standard option. I think most editors will add one track at a time.

Just came up with an idea : in a track add a record button to start recording in that track (like in logic or ableton). It’s a good safety feature so that you must select the correct track to record in.
