EA's ASF-format?

I used to use EA’s Ditty Importer for importing audio clips to EA’s NHL-games, but I would rather use Audacity, because it is better for editing audio.

My question is: is there any way to save files in EA’s ASF-format in Audacity?

I tried to make a new audio clip with Audacity and used WMA (it seems to be the only one for FFmpeg, but I may be wrong) from drop-box and save with “.ASF”.

When I runned the game (NHL 2002), I heard nothing.

WMA FFmpeg-format from the library seems to support Windows-format, which seems to be different than EA’s format.

Using: newest Audacity, FFmpeg import/export library, Windows XP

Thanks.

You should be able to edit in Audacity and export to WAV. Then, according the Electronic Arts website you can use the Ditty Importer to convert and import the WAV file into your game.

No. Electronic Arts Multimedia files in various containers are decodable by FFmpeg, but can’t be encoded, as per General Documentation . Given the format is proprietary you won’t I suspect be able to find a command-line encoder either, which you could use in Audacity’s command-line importer.

You will have to take the extra step of exporting from Audacity as WAV (Microsoft) signed 16-bit PCM, then convert and import it using Ditty Importer.
