Hello, im new here. I would like to know how I can record with my Yamaha DTX Multi 12 electronic drum kit using Audacity. Thank you
I can’t find a user manual for your drum kit online. Audacity is not a MIDI application but it can record the audio. If you want to use the MIDI features it looks like it came with Cubase.
The USB port is probably MIDI-only but if it’s audio you can select the USB device as your Recording Device.
If it doesn’t show-up as a Recording Device, you can connect the headphone-output (or line-output if there is one) to line-in (blue) on a soundcard. If you have a laptop with no line-in you’ll need a USB audio interface with line inputs. (The mic input is not correct.) The Behringer UCA202 is a popular and inexpensive line-input interface. Do not buy a regular “USB soundcard” because they are like laptops with only mic-in and headphone-out. If you want to connect headphones or an amplifier at the same time, you’ll probably need a Y-splitter. If you listen/monitor through the computer there will be latency (delay).
