Double sounds heard from tape to MP3

I try to trasnfer music from my casette tape to my computer mp3 using Audacity 2.4.1. I did several times and it all go well. But today one of the tapes produces a double sounds (something like echo…) even when I play with the casette player alone. I guess its due to the tape is too old and maybe sticky. I want to know if I can use Audacity to correct this double sounds “effect”? Thanks!

I attached the “double sound” mp3.

I can’t listen right now but thanks for attaching a sample… It’s always helpful. I’ll listen later…

even when I play with the casette player alone.

The tape machine by itself, or through the computer? If it’s through the computer make to select the specific input (line input, USB, etc.) as your Recording Device. If you select “Stereo Mix” or “loopback” you can create an internal feedback loop and an echo.

P.S.
I think that’s intentional reverb/echo.
