Don't get any sound

I am not able to get sound through Audacity on my Macintosh.

I am running version 3.7

I have tried a number of different set ups, but nothing seems to work.

On the Mac, using system settings, I went to Sound and selected the built-in mini speakers. I tried playing a couple of MP3 files and they played just fine.

Then I shifted over to Audacity and made sure that I was selecting the Mac mini speakers for the playback device. I verified it on the audio set up and the audio settings dialogue boxes but I wasn’t able to get any sound.

Check the output volume control that is integrated into the output level meter. It is easy to accidentally set it to zero.

That did the trick, thanks, Bill W 58

whoops, spoke too soon. my AirPlay speakers don’t work. Can’t say that I recognize these different output devices.

Does Airplay operate through bluetooth? Audacity does not play well with bluetooth devices.
Also, have you tried Transport > Rescan Audio Devices before changing output devices?
