Does (or can) Audacity have the option to add markers to the timeline?
When producing an OTR show I will have anywhere between 40 to 150 tracks. Each actor, SFX, music, and background having it’s own track. If we had the ability to set and name a marker on the timeline it would make it a lot easier to line up your effect (or music) without having to scroll to the top everytime.
Thanks
Bob
Audacity has Labels.
I just leaned this last night myself. It is the method that OpenVino Whisper Transcription uses to save a transcript.
I use Labels as placeholders all the time. Especially when I need to delete a large section of a track. I locate the beginning of the section and click there on the track. Then I click the Edit menu, the Labels menu and then Add Label At Selection. I do the same thing for the end of the section. Then I zoom out and select the section. The pointer “snaps” to the labels, making a precise selection for deletion.
Thanks.. That will work.. I didn’t even think of that..
I need more coffee !!
