Digital clicks in imported sound

Hi
I’ve now for some time, through several program updates, been unable to use Audacity because of digital clicks in imported sound.
Anyone know about the reason for this and of a solution ?

Hi billw58 It turned out that it was the play back-device, my blue tooth head phones, that was the culprit. It helped when I connected the head phones with mini jack instead of by blue tooth, and thereby enabling the core audio to be the audio engine.
