Ι have been using Audacity for some time, but this is my first attempt to load and use an effect. I paid for (and believe I installed) soap transcriber from MuseHub, but when I look at the effects pulldown in Audacity, its not there. I thought perhaps I needed to do a different sort of install, but when I click “get more effects”, I get the error Audacity cannot connect to MuseHub.com. I could connect fine when I agreed to give them money
Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong? I am just totally confused? Running Audacity 3.7.7
Try going to the plugin manager and rescanning plugins. If it still doesn’t show up then, you may want to contact musehub support: Home | MuseHub Help Center
I have tried a number of things. The MuseHub library shows the plugin as installed, but I do not see a file on my computer nor does Audacity find the plugin. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin, and MuseHub gets most of the way through the install and crashes. The MuseHub AI customer support idiot will only tell me to contact Audacity, as it is an Audacity problem. MuseHub crashing is not an Audacity problem. AI service bots are devil spawn, but Claude thinks the Audacity forum is much better. Anyone seen anything like this?
Sorry. I did that. No joy.
That’s most likely the problem. On the Soap Transcriber plugin by Soap Audio download | MuseHub page is a “Installing Transcriber” video.
Are you running out of space on C:\ or wherever it tries to install? Perhaps try updating MuseHub? Perhaps try restarting your PC like it’s 1999.
Soap Audio doesn’t seem to be very attentive, one of their three videos being super quiet, their videos not working in the musehub software (see my just recorded little jab Is MuseHub by Muse Group and Transcriber by Soap Audio a joke? - YouTube). If you can’t get the installation to work as outlined in the install video and their support denies supporting you, it’s probably time to demand a refund (Getting a refund | MuseHub Help Center) and try out some open source solutions built on Whisper like for example mehtabmahir/easy-whisper-ui: Easy to use interface for the Whisper model optimized for all GPUs! (first search result, haven’t actually tried this yet, only used whisper in the command line so far)
