Difference between v2.3.3r and v2.3.3 on fosshub?

I’ve a friend who urgently needs to record something, and I’m advising them to download 2.3.3 (their OS is conceivably too old for 2.4.2 and time’s too short to find out). I notice on the fosshub page for legacy versions there are two links for macOS - v2.3.3r and v2.3.3. Are they the same and what does r stand for in this context? Release?

In other words, does it remotely matter which I suggest they click?

As far as I’m aware, they are identical.

My guess is that it was a typo, and they were uploaded again without the “r”.
