Device host stuck in MME mode?

Hi there, I have a Behringer UMC404HD and I’m trying to make it so that I can use all 4 channels for recording.

I came upon this topic, and tried to follow the suggestions contained therein:
https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/recording-4-channels-behringer-uphoria-umc404hd-solved/48394/1

The issue that I seem to be having is that the computer is ONLY seeing the device in MME mode, even when I switch the device to WASAPI mode. I’ve confirmed this by trying all the different host options and every time I grab the device info, all devices show the host as MME, all the time. It also bears mentioning that the device will only show up as 2 separate devices (Behringer UMC404HS 192k (Line 1-2) & (3-4)) both in Audacity and in Windows itself.

I realize that there is a very high chance that this is not actually an Audacity issue, but something screwy with how windows sees that device. I’m hoping that someone here has encountered something like this before and has figured out a fix.

I’m running Audacity 2.3.0
Windows 10 Pro 1803
Behringer drivers 4.38.0

Thanks!

Try rebooting the computer, and ensure that no other audio applications are running (If you have Skype, or similar, ensure that it is not running at all).
Then launch Audacity and see if the USB device is available with WASAPI host.
