Default spectrogram settings

Hi there
I know how to set the default visualization to spectrogram, but haven’t found a way to open files with my preferred settings.
Please let me know, if there’s any .ini or some preferences file that I could edit in order to use my spec settings by default, which would be

  • logarithmic 50 - 20000 Hz
  • Gain +40 dB, Range 40 dB, High Boost +18 dB/dec, Grayscale
  • Algorithm: freqs, Window: Hanning 16384

Thanks,
Axel

Dear Steve

I have found what I was looking for: C:\Users%currentuser%\AppData\Roaming\audacity\audacity.cfg (lines 273-285)
Thanks for your answer.

There is absolutely no need to manually edit the audacity.cfg file. All settings in that configuration file can be properly set through the GUI.

There is: Setting up multiple user profiles or whole machines and writing this config file into the user’s AppData folder via a batch script. This makes sure, every current and future user has identical default settings

Until they change something.
