I saw this bug posted in Nov 2023, and it was supposedly fixed with 3.4.1. I’m currently using Audacity 3.6.1 and I’m having the same issue. I select the ending of clip 1 and beginning of clip 2, hit “Effect > Fading > Crossfade Clips” and nothing happens. My undo history still has “Undo Move Clip” as the last entry. I do not get any error messages or any indication it has even tried, and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.

If you are using an older version of Audacity, it may be this bug, which has now been fixed: 'Crossfade Clips' does not seem to work as of Audacity 3.4.0 · Issue #5471 · audacity/audacity · GitHub
As I stated in my original post, I am on 3.6.1. I just downloaded it today from the website. I also referenced that issue in my original post to show that I did research it and made sure I was on the proper version…
Sorry, I missed that and skipped on to testing with 3.6.1.
It looks like you are doing it correctly, but I’m not able to reproduce the problem. Does anything appear in “Help menu > Diagnostics > Show Log” when it fails?
