Critical Nyquist files cannot be found

MAVERICKS 10.9.2 - MacBook Pro retina

Hello! I have been reading Read Me’s and online comments and can’t seem to sort out how to get Audacity up and running. I’m launching from the Apps folder. Upon opening, it freezes with a message that “Critical Nyquist files cannot be found”. I see both PlugIns and Nyquist in the installer, but am unclear how to proceed. Help?

I stated a new topic for you and gave it a relevant title.

Have you looked at https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/installation-do-not-run-audacity-from-the-dmg/31711/1 ? Make sure you dragged the whole “Audacity” folder from the DMG, not just the Audacity application. Then keep the Audacity application in the “Audacity” folder at all times.
