Hi
I’m wondering what is the best way to ‘age’ a track by adding pop, hiss and cracking as you might hear on an old 78 album.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

If you’re using Audacity 1.3.14 on Windows, try iZotope Vinyl VST (free)
there’s a sample you could use here … https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/making-a-song-sound-old/13444/3
Many thanks for your help- great resources!
Mike
By the way, if anyone is looking for recordings from the early 20th century, I found this great resource:

What a weird interest really
I wouldn’t like to spoil good sound with such trash on purpose. And I have some badly scratched records, so I can get THAT without any special effects.
