Crazy toolbar positioning in Mojave

I got a new computer, which is already running Mojave (10.14.3), and installed the latest version of Audacity (2.3.0) from the DMG downloaded from https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/, following the installation instructions on that page. Audacity basically works, but for some reason it displays the toolbars in the middle of the screen (see screenshot, attached). It’s very tenacious, too; it covers up big parts of the wave form windows, and even stays on the screen when I bring up other applications (see second screenshot, attached).

If this is a 32-bit/64-bit problem, then fine, I can wait for 64-bit Audacity. But if not, do you have any idea how to fix this?

To fix the problem:
“View menu > Toolbars > Reset Toolbars”
