After installing 3.6.1, like others, I copied from a stereo track to paste into another stereo track and I got the error. I closed down, restarted and now all of my playback is tinny and sounds like an old transistor radio. I’ve uninstalled, reinstalled tried all different settings in preferences and nothing helps - everything in Audacity sounds HORRIBLE!
Any advice provided as if you’re explaining it to an idiot would be gratefully received.
Relax everyone, I’ve fixed the problem!
When Audacity crashed it changed some settings. Host had moved from Windows Wasapi to MME, which then, I think caused some other cascading changes which led me down the garden path. This page here set me on the right track: How to Record YouTube Audio with Audacity
Wish that I’d read that first, I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled, deleted Appdata files, changed speaker settings and everything you can imagine over the last week.
