I don’t think so. I suppose if you are desperate you could try running up to step 11 here: https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/corrupt-or-otherwise-broken-audacity-project-recovery/64162/1 but this procedure has never been tested on Unix. Also, I think it is a long shot.
However, I would strongly suggest upgrading to 3.1.3, (and at least to 3.0.5) as you are able, as it fixes some issues that could cause hangs. 
BTW, I always do Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V, then I go back for the Ctrl-X, but to each his own.
