Correcting line level audio track

Hi,

I’m pretty sure I can’t do this but maybe you have a trick to better the audio track. I record a video with my Nikon Camera and I connected the stereo mic input to a line out of a mixer. I made a test and with just normal talking all seem ok. But with all the musicians playing maybe the signal level was much higher and the sound is pretty bad, like with distortion. Is there a way with audacity do correct the track for a better sound?

Probably not. Do Nikon say this is suitable for recording a full rock band or symphony orchestra? What is the exact model number? Does it have a headphones out that you could connect to the mixer?
