Control keys to use with Elgato Stream Deck

I hope this is the correct place for this. If not, can someone move it to the correct one?

I was wondering if you guys were working on custom key data to use with Elgato stream deck. Basically a set of keys I install onto my Deck to run audacity.

As I understand it, they have set up something to allow you go do this.

I already have the begging of one for OBS Studio which is also on Elgato’s web site.

Sever keys for steam labs obs

I got a set for OBS elements this week.

So I’m really hoping you guys are working on something for your own set of keys with icons because it is so much easier to use the computer shortcuts via the deck than keyboard at times.

I hope you guys understand what I’m talking about here. I wasn’t sure how to explain it. Here is the video I saw from Elgato on YouTube explaining SDK which allows you guys to do this.

Maybe that can explain it better?

I’m not aware of anyone working on that. I’d not heard of an “Elgato Stream Deck” until I read your post, and having looked at their website and YouTube videos, I still don’t see how this would be much, if any, benefit to the majority of Audacity users.

Audacity provides pretty comprehensive control via keyboard shortcuts (see: Commands and Keyboard Shortcut Reference - Audacity Manual)
If the Elgato stream deck can be configured to use keyboard shortcuts, then that could be a solution. If it can’t, then perhaps it should, so as to be more versatile.

This is exactly what I was looking for

I tried to upload the two profiles I had created but that doesnt appear to be supported.

I have one profile set to automatically load when it sees Audacity started
I have a profile that is switched from the main profile when i want to record so that I get just the record shortcuts

I did go into keyboard settings and mapped Control 3 to go to the option of exporting the current recording to an MP3 file.
This will make things very straight forward and minimize problems with keyboard typing showing up in the recording.
Audible is a little picky in that respect.
