Continuous problem with Exception Code 0xc0000005

I have similar problems with Audacity as other users on this group. Every time I close Audacity, I get and Exception code 0xc0000005, but when I click “Send”, I get a message that says “failed to send report”… Upon reopening Audacity, I get a popup advising the previous file wasn’t saved. Suggestions?

Which version of Audacity does this refer to?

Thanks Mark. I’m using version 3.7.1

I searched for other instances of the error and they were earlier versions of Audacity. Since you have the latest one, I’m a bit stuck for ideas.

Thanks Mark. I may have discovered the problem. I thought I would do an uninstall using REVO and when searching my drive for the Audacity file I noted it was listed as version 3.6.2 even tho’ the indication in the "About"tab said version 3.7.1. Was it possible that installing the 3.7.1 update didn’t clear out some of the old 3.6.2 artifacts? Anyway, I did a clean uninstall and installed a fresh version of 3.7.1. Hopefully this solves the problem but if not, I’ll touch base with you again. Many thanks for your help
