Classmate forgot to copy .aup files...

We were working on a short commercial on his laptop and when we were done he just copied the new folders and not the .aup files that tell audacity what to do with the data folders. Is it possible to stitch together those files or something so I can get to work? I assume he will eventually get those files to me but it will likely be faster to ask this board for help than wait for him to check his email.

Thanks

Or not.

You are in Disaster Recovery. Since your machine didn’t actually crash, scroll down to manual recovery.

Actually it was about the same amount of time, my classmate just got back to me

Thanks for the response anyway, it’ll help if this happens again.

Or not. Many people like creating perfect quality WAV sound files and shipping those around rather than arm-wrestling with Audacity Projects.

File > Export > WAV (Microsoft), 16-bit.

Those have the additional advantage that they will open in almost all sound programs on any computer, unlike Projects.

That’s if you are shipping straight sound clips or segments. If you are sharing multi-tracks with offsets, splits, labels, etc, then yes, you’re stuck with Projects.
