Changing frequency?

Hi , so i go into effect/pitch and tempo/ change pitch , and type in the pitch i want to change it to , say 528Hz , then hit apply. But when i look back in there , the estimated start pitch is different , like 525Hz, or if i try to adjust it a little higher or lower , it ends up at maybe 531Hz, but i never see it at 528Hz. Or lower down under “ frequency” , it says “ start from” and it never says “ start from “ 528Hz after changing it to 528Hz. It’s always one of the other numbers , for example 525 or 531.Am i missing something? thanks

It should be changing by a certain percentage. You can’t change to 528Hz without knowing what you’re changing from.

Digitally it should be perfect but you have to know what you’re feeding-in and then some “consumer soundcards” can be off.

Assuming you are changing the pitch/key of music there’s no “one frequency”. Of course, there are many different notes.

A=440Hz is standard tuning but that doesn’t mean there are any 440Hz notes in a particular song.

P.S.
You can also use Generate → Tone if you want to generate a 528Hz tone.
