"Change pitch" effect and recording soundcard sounds

I am currently using Audacity 3.7.9 and testing 4.01.
OS Windows 10 and soundcard “Sound Blaster Audigy Fx”.

Noticed problems in Audacity 4.01:

  • In “Change pitch” effect when the original pitch is left as the target pitch, actually the pitch is changed to much lower (not the case with Audacity 3.7.9 where the original pitch is preserved)
  • When trying to record the soundcard sounds, in Audacity 3.7.9 you have to select “Audio setup->Host->Windows WASAPI” and “Audio setup->Recording device->Luodspeakers (your soundcard) (loopback)”, in Audacity 4 when following this procedure I get the error message “Recording error. Error opening recording device. Error code: -9996 Invalid device” which again is not the case with Audacity 3.7.9.

Anyway I remain an enthusiastic user of Audacity :smiley:
