I’m brand new to Audacity so please don’t be too technical if any answers are forthcoming.
I’ve used the Acoustica sound mixer for years where I can number the tracks on my CDs.
Can I burn a gapless CD with track numbers on Audacity?

You can number (and name) the tracks in Audacity and then export them. However, Audacity is not a CD burning app; you may need additional software.
A free solution would be iTunes (also available for Windows), where gapless burning is possible. Export your files from Audacity to any iTunes-compatible format (.wav, .aiff, etc.) and then burn in iTunes.
I make one continuous WAV file and then I use ImgBurn with a Cue Sheet to set the track markers.
(Some burning applications may not support cue sheets.)
A cue sheet is a plain text file so you can create/edit one with Windows Notepad. I usually start with a known-good cue sheet and edit it.
