Hello, I just purchased a blue yeti mic. I’ve been using Audacity with my Macbook Pro for roughly 7 months. I always used the internal
mic on my Mac for my podcasts. I wanted a more professional/crisp sound, thus, I purchased the Yeti.
However, after I go into my Mac’s preferences, check the sound thats coming from the blue Yeti, everything seems to be lined up perfectly.
Then I go to Audacity, and there’s no drop down menu that allows me to “choose” blue yeti as my microphone.
I may have to go over to GarageBand to start recording my podcasts. However, I’d much rather stay with Audacity.
Please post in the board for your operating system when you need help. I moved the topic for you.
If you connected Yeti while Audacity was open, you need to restart Audacity or use Transport > Rescan Audio Devices in the Audacity menu at the top so Audacity can see the Yeti. Then choose the Yeti in Device Toolbar or in Audacity > Preferences… .
Also make sure you are using Audacity 2.0.5 from Audacity ® | Download for Mac OS . You can check what version you have now at Audacity > About Audacity… .
if you cannot see Device Toolbar in 2.0.5, choose View > Toolbars > Reset Toolbars.
