can anyone help please. new lenovo laptop, i record a file, try to export to wav, it says not compatible and wont save. do i need a different make of laptop? any advice would be rally appreciated
Maybe need to use a different type of WAV …
44100Hz 16-bit types are the compatible with most audio software.
24-bit & 32-bit types are less compatible.
thank you. im quite new to this and of the generation that is not technical!!
ive downloaded the ffmpeg file and thought that would solve it.
could you please let me know how i can ensure im on the 44100 Hz setting?
thank you
You don’t need ffmpeg to choose the type of WAV made by Audacity.
ffmpeg enables you to play and create other file formats.
Thank you, I’ll try it. I’m a bit worried about this Lenovo laptop, should it be all right do you think?
I have recorded a piece through Audacity, I’ve edited it and want to export it.
Ideally as a WAV, but I’ve found someone that will convert from MP3 to WAV.
I assumed exporting to MP3 would be straightforward but when I save to Desktop and try to open, it says ‘Select an app to open this MP3 file.
It says default app Media Player
Suggested apps:
Microsoft Clipchamp Nee
Windows Media Player Legacy
More options:
Free Media Player
Notepad
Word
Any help or advice would be fantastic.
Thank you
Richi
You can drag’n’drop files into Audacity …
or open audio files this way …
