I am trying to save some music as Mp3 so that I can listen to it on an MP3 player. I am using Windows 10. I have installed audacity 2.1.2 as well as ffmpeg, LADSPA and LAME. I an running Audacity as administrator. I have confirmed that the lame_enc.dll file is linked. But still, when I try to expert to audio I get the message “you don’t have permission to save in this location. Contact the adminsitrator to obtain permission. Would you like to save in the Music folder instead.” I have tried all the tricks I have found in internet searches, but to no avail.
Running Audacity as administrator when you are not logged in as adminstrator is not sufficient to save in Program Files or other protected locations. If you must save in protected locations for some reason, then log in as administrator or acquire appropriate permissions from your IT Manager.
Otherwise, save in your own Music folder or click in the “Save in:” box at the top of the export dialogue to change to some other location in your own user space.
